The Griffin's Story - 1980s
It's been over 140 years since Griffin's first started in Nelson. In that time we have had an exciting journey. Follow our history

1985: Griffin’s acquired the classic British cracker brand Huntley & Palmers and firmly established it as a New Zealand favourite. Hot on the heels of the Huntley & Palmers acquisition, Griffin’s launched Chit Chats, which proved to be a big hit with Kiwi taste buds.
1987: Griffin’s acquired ETA foods, including its range of chips, peanuts, peanut butter and salad dressings.
